Every year, the Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA) hosts National Boarding Week, a week of fun activities designed to celebrate and promote boarding schools and communities around the world.
All member schools (of which RMS is one) are invited to take part in the BSA national events and are also encouraged to arrange their own celebration activities – our boarding community certainly didn't need to be asked twice to take part! A group of our international students – Coco, Queenie, Stephanie and Rachael – had entered the "Boarders got talent" competition and were thrilled to hear that they had made it through to the finals, held at Mill Hill School last Wednesday. Whilst the girls didn't win, it was a fantastic achievement to get to the finals, and we are all very proud of them!
Friday night say the inaugural RMS Boarding Festival, held on the Garth and so aptly named "Garthella!" A night of music, dance, stalls and of course plenty of food followed, and finished with a pop up outdoor cinema – great fun was had by all.
On Saturday, it was off to the seaside for the girls and staff as they hit Brighton seafront and all its attractions.
You'd think that would be enough for one weekend, but no! Saturday night saw the annual boarders' camp out on the Lowers – an evening of outdoor games, a campfire, singing and MORE FOOD!!
Never a dull moment for RMS boarders…. Thank you to all the boarding staff who made last weekend such a memorable one for all our boarding students! More photos below!
