Working at RMS

Benefits

Our HR team works closely with all our staff to create a workplace that is well-balanced, fulfilling, and happy. The Staff Wellbeing programme offers community activities such as staff fitness, swimming, a book club and a range of social events throughout the year. We also offer free flu jabs every year for all our staff.

Staff benefits include free access to an Employee Assistance Programme, subsidised gym membership, cycle to work scheme, fees discount (subject to the terms of the policy) and full access to our stunning campus.

We offer competitive salaries and generous pension contributions to all staff.

Professional Development

At RMS, we place a strong emphasis on continuing professional development and we ensure all our staff are supported across a diverse range of training needs, no matter what your stage of career.

Internal training is delivered regularly at INSET days and twilight sessions throughout the academic year, and is designed to offer choice and personalisation. Staff work collaboratively, observe each other regularly and encourage each other in their development.  This not only ensures our continued focus on high quality teaching and learning, but also reinforces the mutually supportive professional relationships we enjoy at RMS.

Subject specific training is also encouraged to ensure staff have an up-to-date knowledge of their curricula and specifications.

In addition, RMS offers bespoke training programmes for those at specific stages in their careers.  In partnership with Istip, our ECT programme supports those at the very beginning of their careers, whilst practitioners with more experience may wish to access one of the range of leadership development courses we have on offer for our staff.

All staff have free access to the wide variety of online training provided by the National College, TES Develop and Leadership Matters platforms.

RMS is also proud to partner with a number of local and regional training hubs to access both subject-specific and pedagogical training opportunities, and to encourage our staff to build their own personal professional networks within and beyond the school.

The RMS community is welcoming and vibrant and, if you share our vision, we would love to hear from you.

RMS for Girls is proud to work with two local providers of Initial Teacher Training, hosting trainees across a range of subjects and Key Stages.
