On Friday 3rd March we are planning an exciting event for all girls in Year 7 and Year 8. Holly Smale, author of the Geek Girl series has agreed to visit the school to talk to the girls about her books.
Holly is an internationally renowned author and we are delighted to have secured a visit by her. She will be talking to the children to provide inspiration for their own writing and also speaking to them about the joy of reading. This will support the literacy work that we do in school and we hope it will prove a stimulating experience for the students.
On the 3rd March there will be an opportunity for the girls to buy a book by Holly Smale and get it dedicated to them and signed by Holly, if they would like. A signed book can be a permanent reminder of a special experience and can reinforce the message about the importance of reading. Equally, Holly will be happy to sign any copies of her books that the students may already own.
We are sure you will agree that this is an opportunity not to be missed and the girls can look forward to a very exciting day.
