Year 11 pupils at The Royal Masonic School for Girls, Rickmansworth have once again produced a superb set of GCSE results. Fifty-two percent of all grades awarded were A*/A or equivalent, maintaining a six year record of having the majority of results at the highest grades. Twenty-four percent of all grades awarded were A* or equivalent, with twenty-two pupils achieving nine or more grades at A*/A or equivalent.

Headmaster since January 2017, Kevin Carson is proud of the academic results produced by his first cohort to take their GCSEs:

"I am delighted for our pupils, for their happy parents, and for our outstanding teachers. It is wonderful to see RMS pupils performing so well in all public examinations, and it is a just reward for the sustained hard work of everybody involved. They will gain confidence from these results and will go on to achieve great things in our sixth form. In the first year of reformed GCSE English it was particularly pleasing to see our pupils attain around four times the proportion of 9 grades compared to the national average, showing that RMS pupils will continue to prosper as further subjects reform in the coming years. As ever with public examination results, we should point out that these are just one aspect of a pupil’s success and that no one measure is the full story. While the results are outstanding, I am equally proud of everything that this cohort of Year 11 pupils have achieved outside the classroom this year; they are a very talented year group and have accomplished a great deal in the performing arts, creative arts, and on the sports field. We are very much looking forward to seeing them grow inside and outside the classroom and into our future school leaders over the next two years at RMS."
