Congratulations to Cara in Year 10 who took part in the British Swimming Summer Championships in Glasgow, achieving four personal bests, as well as winning a bronze and silver medal.

Competing in the Under-16 age group, Cara won silver in the 1500m Freestyle, and bronze in the 400m Individual Medley. She also just missed out on medals in the 400m and 800m Freestyle races, coming fourth in both. The other races she qualified for were the 200m Individual Medley and the 200m Backstroke.

She trained incredibly hard throughout the year both before and after school, and over the weekends as well.

Cara's parents said:
"Watching Cara perform under extreme pressure, avoiding distraction, demonstrated Cara’s level of commitment, determination, resilience and humility. This made us feel extremely proud, not to mention the sacrifices Cara made to achieve these outcomes."

The British Swimming Summer Championships took place at the Tollcross International long course pool in Glasgow from 23rd to 28th July.
