Work is progressing on the development of a brand new "Pastoral Hub" in the former Lecture Theatre in the RMS Resource Centre.

Situated at the very heart of the School, the Resource Centre will soon be home to our Pastoral Hub.  The facility will be home to our Head of Years' office, a meeting room and break out area, as well as being in close proximity to the offices of Mrs Bomford (Deputy Head Pastoral) and Mrs Ralph (Director of Learning Support).

Pastoral Care has long been a strength of the School, with the Deputy Head coordinating an effective support network to meet the needs of every individual girl.  Girls are supported throughout their time at the School by members of academic staff, Housemistresses, the staff in the Health Centre, the Chaplain, our independent School Counsellor and our Friendship Mediator. Sixth Formers also play a key role in mentoring younger girls, and our prefects are attached to form groups, which allows them to develop as mature individuals who care for others, while offering younger girls friendship and role models .

Of the transformation from Lecture Theatre to this "hub" for pastoral care, Mrs Bomford said "I am delighted that this facility for pastoral care is at the heart of the School, reflecting our ethos.  Here girls will be able to meet with their Head of Year, or find a quiet space for personal reflection".
