The charities team have been organising fundraising events to raise money for Herts Young Homeless, our elected charity for this academic year.

We caught up with Molly (Year 13), from the charities team to give us an overview of all the events that have taken place over the last two terms.

Written by Molly – Year 13

Across the whole school over the last two terms, the school has managed to raise an incredible £9,344.22 for Herts Young Homeless.

In Michaelmas term the charities team ran non-uniform days, dress-up days, tuck shops, movie nights, a candy cane sale, a rainbow tombola and the staff bleep test!

They were all great fun, but our favourite events were the movie nights!

In November we had a year 9 movie night where we watched Pitch Perfect in the Hind House common room. Then in December we had a year 7 Christmas themed movie night where we watched Home Alone in the Space. At both events there were lots of snacks and we all had a great time watching the movies.

Cadogan House also raised over £1200 doing a Santa Run and year five raised £158 at their Enterprise Day.

In Hilary term we had non-school uniform days, a Valentine’s day sweet sale, the year 7 & 8 disco and the Sixth Form winter ball! The year 7 & 8 disco was so much fun and we especially enjoyed playing the music and watching everyone having a great time!

We invited Merchant Taylors and John Hampden to join the RMS sixth form for the winter ball. It was an amazing event which started in the dining hall with food and drinks and then into the Space for the DJ and photo booth!

Thank you to everyone who participated and donated this year. We are really happy to be able to contribute to funding Herts Young Homeless’ projects, helping to prevent homelessness in Hertfordshire!
