Ahead of Chinese New Year, pupils in Reception received a special visit from Mrs Lee to learn about the customs and traditions of this festive occasion.
During her talk, Mrs. Lee explained the significance of giving hongbao, red envelopes filled with good wishes, as well as the importance of traditional foods like dumplings and fish. She also explained the significance of lucky numbers, the symbolism of the colour red and some of the unique customs for the holiday, such as refraining from sweeping and avoiding conflict.
Thank you to Mrs. Lee for her engaging presentation leaving pupils excited to celebrate Chinese New Year and the year of the Dragon.
