On Sunday 24th September, RMS for Girls welcomed over 300 families, and an estimated 900+ individuals, to our much-anticipated Whole School Open Day, and what a day it was!

Parents and prospective students were treated to an immersive experience as they explored our sprawling 300 acre campus, guided by our enthusiastic Senior School pupils every step of the way.

Upon entering Ruspini House, our Nursery School, visitors were warmly welcomed by our dedicated Ruspini team, led by Mrs. Vicky Greig. Boasting picturesque facilities and a curriculum meticulously crafted by experienced teachers, the Nursery School at RMS serves as the perfect foundation for your child’s educational journey.

Many of our visitors were captivated by the outdoor learning spaces at Ruspini, which showcased the boundless opportunities for hands-on learning and exploration.

For those curious about our Prep School, Cadogan House, opened its doors, unveiling vibrant classrooms and a nurturing learning environment that our talented Prep School staff take immense pride in.

In addition to hearing from Mrs. Melanie Horn, Head of Cadogan House, families had the chance to explore year group areas, each with its own distinctive character, and admire the exceptional work on display by our current Cadogan pupils.

The heart of our Open Day experience centred around the guided tours, allowing families to discover the breathtaking beauty of our site and connect with our exceptional teaching staff.

Throughout the day, visitors had access to our state-of-the-art facilities, ranging from the awe-inspiring Planetarium to the dynamic Sports Centre.

Our Recording Studio, Drama Studio, Recital Hall and bustling Photography Suite and Art Department proudly showcased our commitment to arts and innovation, while the Swimming Pool, Golf Course, and Boarding Houses provided a glimpse into the unique daily life of an RMS student.

A must-visit stop along the way was our theatre and lecture venue, The Space, where Headteacher Kevin Carson, Head of Senior School Rachel Bailey, Head Pupil Hattie and Year 8 pupil Cara-Rose delivered informative and inspiring talks.

Of course, no visit would be complete without indulging in a culinary treat. Our grand Dining Hall, complete with a renovated Servery, proved to be a delightful stop. Visitors savoured delicious samples, offering them a true taste of the RMS dining experience.

The Sixth Form experience at Hind House underscored our commitment to preparing students for life beyond school. Visitors were delighted to explore our brand-new Sixth Form Cafe, The Hive, while the recently refurbished Futures’ Zone, home to our outstanding Careers team, emphasised our dedication to shaping students for a successful future.

It was wonderful to meet so many visitors at our Open Day, and to hear from them how helpful our pupils were as tour guides and how informative my colleagues were. This is not a surprise! We are the most welcoming and friendly community, and I look forward to seeing those who joined us on the day at RMS again in the near future

- Mr Kevin Carson, Headteacher
