RMS pupils were in high spirits this morning as they collected their GCSE results.  As with last week’s A Level grades, pupils achieved an outstanding set of results with 49% of results graded 9-8 (formerly A*), and 69% graded 9-7 (formerly A*-A).

Head-teacher Kevin Carson said, “I wish to congratulate our Year 11 students on an excellent set of GCSE results, which are a fitting reward for their talents and sustained hard work.  The pupils should be deeply proud of their achievements.  The prospect of these intellectually curious, highly capable students stepping into our Sixth Form next week is very exciting and we are looking forward to enjoying their further adventures.”

Head of Senior School, Rachel Bailey, added, “I am really delighted that this dedicated, talented year group has achieved such fabulous results. Our Year 11 pupils, alongside their marvellous teachers, have taken on the challenges of the last two years with good humour, focus, and determination and I am so very proud of them all.”

RMS as a community, pulled together to overcome the challenges presented by the pandemic and today’s results of 49% 9-8 at GCSE following on from 52% A*-A at A Level last week are testament to the dedicated efforts of all colleagues and pupils and the support of parents.  At RMS we know that a great education is about much more than a set of excellent examination results, but we are nevertheless extremely proud of our pupils’ achievements this year.
