Congratulations to Avantija, Cosima, Alice L, Sofiya  and Georgia W (all Year 8), and Isabella R, Zoe T and Lauren P (Year 7) on completing their certification as Digital Leaders.

“Digital Leaders” is a Childnet initiative which puts young people at the forefront of online safety education.  By taking part, pupils have the opportunity to increase their knowledge, achieve recognition and collaborate with other Digital Leaders across the country.

The girls undertook a training programme created by Childnet’s expert team; they completed a series of interactive online modules, designed to increase their online safety knowledge and to help them learn key skills about how to share this new knowledge with their peers.

Once certified, and armed with a badge and certificate to prove it, the girls will be responsible to delivering online safety initiatives within school – a key part of this will Safer Internet Day (www.saferinternet.org.uk)  which this year takes place on 5th February; the girls will be running several events that week along the theme of “Together for a better internet” which is the theme of this year’s SID.

Thank you to Head of Computer Science Mr Lilley for helping the girls with this important accreditation and we look forward to bringing you news of the initiatives the girls have planned!
