RMS Sixth Form provides our students with a pathway to some of the most competitive placements at UK universities.

Earlier this week, a group of aspirational Year 12 RMS students visited Balliol College, Oxford.

Making their way through the beautiful city centre, the students visited the iconic Bodleian library and made the most of a photo opportunity at the Bridge of Sighs.

Arriving at Balliol, the group was given a comprehensive tour of the College.

They particularly enjoyed hearing tales of humorous pranks and traditions that took place between Balliol College and the neighbouring Trinity College, but more importantly, they learned about the Oxford application process.

The tour also included spending time in the Junior Common Room, giving them first-hand experience of what it might be like to be a student at Oxford.

[The trip] emphasised the importance of a strong set of academic grades as well as having a passion for your subject to go beyond the curriculum and engage in wider reading and seeking out additional knowledge.

To round off the visit the students were treated to lunch in the Great Hall, where they tried the famous Balliol Burrito!

Thank you to Balliol College for your warm hospitality. The group had a fabulous day and left feeling informed and inspired.
