77% of entries grade 9 to 7 (Inc A*- A) and 54% attaining a grade 9 to 8 (Inc A*)

After a tumultuous 17 months, our pupils have proved that hard work, support for fellow classmates and a tenacious attitude leads to exceptional results.

With 77% of entries achieving a grade 9 to 7 (Inc A*- A) and 54% attaining a grade 9 to 8 (Inc A*), our Year 11s can be incredibly proud of their outstanding performance.

Head of Senior School, Rachel Bailey commented “I’m so proud of our Year 11 pupils. They have worked with diligence, enthusiasm and good humour during some very trying circumstances and I’m thrilled to see their efforts have been rewarded. It’s impressive that they have achieved these wonderful grades as well as continuing with music, sport, charity work and clubs and it just demonstrates how talented they all are. Congratulations!”

Headmaster, Kevin Carson added “I am absolutely delighted for every single RMS Year 11 pupil. They have shown tremendous determination and character to overcome the challenges of studying for GCSEs through a pandemic. Every pupil has made fantastic progress and I am proud of every single one of these GCSE results. Our teachers have been exceptional in supporting our pupils, both in-person and online, and in ensuring that there was a rigorous assessment process so that our pupils know that they earnt and fully deserve these grades. I hope that all the Year 11 pupils and their parents are celebrating today, this evening, and all weekend!”

Meet Eleanor, after achieving all Level 9s in her GCSEs she now moves up to Sixth Form at RMS with the ultimate goal of becoming a vet.

What is your favourite subject and why?

“I have particularly enjoyed the sciences, my favourite being chemistry. I loved doing all the required practicals. One of my favourites being titrations because it was quite hard to get right.”

What will you be studying next year?

I will be studying: Biology, Chemistry, Maths and History (aiming to become a vet).

What are you most looking forward to about Sixth Form?

“I am looking forward to going into much more detail within the subjects I have chosen. I am also looking forward to enjoying coffee and biscuits with my friends in the common room.”

What extracurricular activities are you involved in at school?

One of my favourites has been MedVetDent society which has made me more determined to fulfil my dreams and hopefully someday become a vet.

How did you feel when you received your results?

Initially, I was quite shocked and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing on the page. But this feeling was swiftly overwhelmed with joy and utter happiness!
