The Platinum Jubilee Hall was full of excitement as this year’s Celebration of Sport took place on Tuesday 26th March.

Hosted by the RMS PE Department, the event aimed to recognise the outstanding accomplishments of RMS Sport and PE teams across the Senior School and Sixth Form over the last year.

Guests were treated to an entertaining evening that included a fun sports-themed quiz, a delectable buffet, and refreshments from the bar. The highlight of the night was the award ceremony, where former England cricket player and captain, Charlotte Edwards, joined us as our special guest to present awards to our deserving RMS athletes.

Year group prizes were distributed for progress, all-round performance, and excellence, with notable winners including the Year 7 and 8 Swimming Squad who clinched the coveted overall Team of the Year title.

Mia Garner, Year 8, was recognised for her outstanding achievements as she was honoured with the overall Sports Personality of the Year award, voted for by her peers.

The event also provided a platform for outgoing athletes such as Aneka, Year 13, to express gratitude to the RMS PE Department for their integral role in students’ personal growth, both in sports and as individuals.

Thank you to everyone involved in organising this memorable celebration, and a special appreciation to Charlotte Edwards for sharing her inspiring journey with us.
