LIS London Interdisciplinary School

Our interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree is the first of its kind in the UK. Our degree’s full title is the LIS Bachelor of Arts and Science in Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods. For three years, LIS students will study real-world challenges, like sustainability, inequality, and artificial intelligence, rather than a single subject like mathematics or geography.   Why?  Because these are important challenges happening right now – they’re not hypothetical scenarios from a textbook.

Their solutions are uncertain and unclear. And we think they can only be tackled with some serious interdisciplinary thinking. This means combining knowledge and skills from across the disciplines – science, social science, humanities, and the arts. All of our students also complete paid internships every year with organisations including Innocent, KPMG, John Lewis and many more.
